CENTER POINT (KWWL) -

In class 3A District 4, West Delaware payed a visit to Center Point-Urbana.

West Delaware entered the night 2-1 with the only defeat coming to Mount Vernon 24-21.  The Hawks opened district play with an overtime win over Davenport Assumption.

Center Point-Urbana won its first three games of the season, including a 44-14 win over Maquoketa in the district opener.

Two great backs were featured in this one.  Alex Wade took the opening handoff for the Storm Pointers, stuck his foot in the ground and cut it back the other way to turn nothing into something.

Over on the Hawks side , Caleb Kehrli was a beast.  He took one right up the gut, spun out of some trouble and carried the pile.

But CPU then went to the air.  Caleb Andrews rolled out and hit Jon Karteus for the score, as CPU struck first.

The Hawks, however, would come back.  Kehrli burst through the line and into the endzone for the score.  And he was far from done in this one.

Kehrli again on the handoff fought his way in to give West Delaware the lead - 14-8.  And then more from the Hawks. as Nick Casey slung it out to Mitchel Mangold for the first down.

That would set up Kehrli once again, who took the rock, made some guys miss and barreled his way in for the score.

Kehrli and the Hawks would run away with this one 33-8.
