Board awards Superintendent Lindaman another 3-year extension

Posted: Updated:

In a unanimous vote, the Waterloo Board of Education Monday night rewarded Superintendent, Dr. Jane Lindaman, by offering her a 3-year contract extension.

This latest contract extension comes with an $8,400 raise, based on Dr. Lindaman's achievements in reaching the goals of her pay for performance contract.

It's another vote of confidence for the Waterloo School Superintendent, who took over in 2014, when Dr. Gary Norris left the district.

Last year, the Waterloo School Board also awarded Dr. Lindaman a contract extension, but, Dr. Lindaman gave up an $8,600 raise she had already earned, and chose to accept only the flat $1,200 being awarded to all Waterloo Schools administrators.

Like so many Iowa school districts, Waterloo has been operating under some very tight budget restraints,

Dr. Lindaman has led the Waterloo Community School District the past four school years, increasing the graduation rate and offering students new classes through the district's expanded Career and Technical Education program. (CTE)
