KWWL partnering with Salvation Army to help Hurricane Harvey victims

Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas as the strongest hurricane to hit the U.S. in more than a decade. Massive flooding is forcing thousands of rescues and overwhelming emergency responders. People are seeking refuge in waist-deep waters that have neighborhoods resembling lakes.  

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services Division is on the the ground in Houston assisting those affected by Harvey. KWWL is partnering with The Salvation Army to ask for donations for those victims. 

Financial gifts allow The Salvation Army to leverage its relationships and purchasing power to obtain what is necessary, when it's necessary, at vendors close to the disaster site. This alleviates the cost of transportation and storage of goods, and supports an economy that has been damaged by the storm. They guarantee that 100 percent of donations designated for Hurricane Harvey will go to Texas.

Mail Checks To: The Salvation Army PO BOX 867 Waterloo, Iowa 50704. Please designated 'Hurricane Harvey' on all checks. You can also send checks to your local Salvation Army. Make sure to put Hurricane Harvey in memo line.
