Iowa gas prices down nearly 2 cents a gallon

Gas prices in Iowa have dipped slightly in the past week to $2.28 a gallon. GasBuddy reports prices have fallen 1.9 cents per gallon.

The national average has fallen 2.4 cents per gallon in the last week to roughly $2.32 a gallon.

Prices Sunday were 5.4 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago, and 9.2 cents a gallon higher than one month ago. GasBuddy reports the national average has increased 3.7 cents a gallon in the last month. 

According to GasBuddy, prices in the region are reporting as follows: 

Quad Cities- $2.22/g, flat  from last week's $2.22/g.
Des Moines- $2.51/g, down 6.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.57/g.
Omaha- $2.36/g, down 0.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.37/g.
