LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

An Iowa man is injured after a collision with a dump truck in eastern Iowa Friday.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at the intersection of County Home Road and North Troy Road north of Robins around 10:33 this morning. Officers say a pickup truck driven by Phillip Cummings, of Center Point, was stopped to make a left turn onto North Troy Road when it was rear-ended by the dump truck.

Authorities say Jason Snyder, of Stanwood, was behind the wheel of the dump truck. He was cited after the crash for failing to stop in an assured clear distance, according to officers.

Cummings was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for what officers say appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. Linn County deputies, Linn County Rescue 57, the Monroe Fire Department, Area Ambulance and the Iowa Department of Transportation Vehicle Enforcement all responded to the scene of the crash.
