Dubuque favored in IIAC preseason poll

Iowa Conference Coaches tabbed the Dubuque Spartans as the preseason favorite to win the conference race. The Spartans received four of the nine first place votes in the poll.

Dubuque finished in a second place tie after posting a 6-2 conference mark last season. The Spartans averaged nearly 40 points a game with Alaska native Conor Feckley under center. Feckley finished third in touchdown passes in Division III during his junior season.

The coaches tabbed Wartburg and defending champion Coe to finish second. Both schools received two first place votes, while Central College received the other.
