Driver stopped twice for speeding

Posted: Updated:

According to Iowa State Troopers, a driver was stopped in Lyon County for traveling 114 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

The Iowa State trooper says he asked the driver why he was in such a hurry, and he told the trooper, "I'm late for the Doon Days Parade."

So, the trooper talked to the driver about driving safely and getting to your destination without being involved in a crash.

However, shortly after the driver was stopped, a Lyon County Deputy stopped him for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone.

According to the Iowa State Patrol's Facebook page, drivers should obey the speed limit, drive responsibility, avoid distractions and be respectful of others on the road.
