National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium to host Total Solar Eclipse viewing party

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium will be hosting a free viewing event for the Total Solar Eclipse on August 21. 

From 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., guests can participate in hands-on activities inspired bu the sun's energy. KWWL Meteorologist Kyle Kiel will be on hand at 11:30 a.m. to discuss the science of a Total Solar Eclipse, followed by the beginning of the eclipse at 11:48 a.m. 

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and KWWL will provide 500 free pairs of solar eclipse glasses during the event. The eclipse will reach it's peak at 1:13 p.m. and end locally at 2:30 p.m. 

Additional details can be found at rivermuseum.com. This event is free to the public, but general admission is required for those wishing to tour beyond the plaza of the Museum & Aquarium, or stay after the event has ended.
