Kicker surprised with scholarship for work off field

MINNESOTA (KWWL) -

A college football player just earned a scholarship for what he does off the field.

Justin Juenemann, a backup kicker with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, was surprised with a scholarship during a team meeting.

The coach did it as a way to honor Justin for his work in the community.

Justin spends a lot of time at a children's hospital

"I've never seen anybody serve and give more than that guy, who is not a star player, who hasn't played, where his face is recognizable. He could easily not do it and nobody would say anything, but all he does is keep his oar in the water. Live that holistic life.. that's academically, athletically, socially and spiritually," said Head Coach PJ Fleck.
