CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

Bicyclist now have a new home to take their wheels off-road in Johnson County.

On Thursday, Creekside Cross park opened in Coralville. The park was designed for cyclocross, a form of off-road bicycling. At the park, people can also use it for cross country running and when it snows, cross country skiing.

It only cost the city $4,500 to make and it opens just five months after the idea was presented.

The park is open for its fall hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from sun up to sun down.

Free cyclocross clinics from beginners to experienced riders will take place at the park on August 24, September 5, and September 12.
