Iowa libraries getting glasses for eclipse

Posted: Updated:

The countdown is on until the solar eclipse on August 21st. To view it, you have to use special solar eclipse glasses.

Public libraries across eastern Iowa are giving them out for free. Here's a list of libraries that are getting pairs: Cedar Falls Public Library (the day of the eclipse), Calmar Public Library, Winthrop Public Library, Ross and Elizabeth Baty Monticello Public Library, Marion Public Library, Iowa City Public Library, Manchester Public Library, and Washington Public Library.

Not all of these libraries are giving out glasses before the day of the eclipse. Rules on how to get them may vary. Make sure to call ahead, to see if you can get a pair.
