Waterloo's Union Baptist Crusaders will celebrate 50 years of marching with a three-day, 50-year, reunion celebration next week.

Current and former members of the drill team, color guard and drumline are invited to participate in the event, which will take place August 11, 12 and 13 at the church, 209 Jackson Street, Waterloo, and at Ferguson Field.

The late Reverend L. J. Jordan founded the highly respected Union Baptist Crusaders in 1967 and the Crusaders have been marching ever since.

A welcome gathering will kick off the three day celebration Friday night. August 11.

Saturday is a busy day. Crusaders alumni will gather at Ferguson Field at 8 am for a breakfast and a 'remember when' time. Crusaders will also 'show and tell' about their lives and what they have done since their days as Crusaders.

Sunday will be the traditional Red and White Day, which will include a show from the current Union Baptist Crusaders.

For information on the Union Baptist Crusaders 50-reunion, call the church at 319-235-1213. You may also contact Reverend Marvin Jenkins, or Directors, Pat Bowers or Gertha Oliver.
