Cedar Valley Hospice prepares for annual Release & Remember fundraiser

Posted: Updated:

Cedar Valley Hospice's Release & Remember fundraiser will be held on Sunday, September 10.  KWWL's Abby Turpin will emcee the event.

The event, held at the Waterloo RiverLoop Amphitheatre, includes food, music and the release of 1,000 live monarch butterflies.  The public is invited to dedicate one or several butterflies. For each memorial or honorary donation of $25, a butterfly will be dedicated in their honor. Tribute names will be displayed at the event, if the donation is received by August 28. Those donating will also receive a keepsake certificate to personalize.

Food, family fun and music begin at 1 p.m., and the ceremony and release of the butterflies will take place at 2:30 p.m.

T-shirts commemorating this year’s event are $10.  However, according to Cedar Valley Hospice, they will sell out quickly, so you can buy one ahead of time at the Cedar Valley Hospice Waterloo office.  It's on the 4th floor of the Kimball Ridge Center building (2101 Kimball Ave.)

For more information or to dedicate a butterfly, visit www.cvhospice.org, contact Shannon Melcher at smelcher@cvhospice.org or call 319.272.2002.
