Tiffin man charged with incest, sexual abuse of girl

A Tiffin man is accused of sexually abusing an area girl over the course of five years, and is now behind bars as he faces four felony charges.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says 50-year-old Clyde Hinkle has admitted to acts of incest. He's charged with Incest, Lascivious Acts with a Child, Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury and Second Degree Sexual Abuse. A sheriff's office report on the charges says the victim suffered emotional, mental and physical distress as a result of the abuse, which took place around 20 times over a five-year time period.

The Iowa Department of Human Services is also involved in the case. Officers say the victim in the case is currently 12 years old.

Hinkle is in the Johnson County Jail on a combined bond amount of $105,000.
