LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

Two people were taken to the hospital after three cars collide in Linn County.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened in the 600 block of Highway 1, south of Mount Vernon around 10:37 this morning.

Officers say a truck driven by 66-year-old Eric Larsen of Lisbon was traveling south when it ran into a car driven by 59-year-old Philip Morrow of Cedar Rapids. The car was then pushed into oncoming traffic going northbound, where it collided with another car, driven by 16-year-old Chloe Whitmore of Solon.

Police say Morrow and Whitmore were both taken to the hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. All three drivers were the only ones in their cars at the time of the crash.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says it is still investigating the crash. Linn County Rescue 57, the Mount Vernon Police Department, the Mount Vernon Fire Department and Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
