Patrick Diller files for Western Dubuque School Board

Patrick Diller of Cascade has announced his candidacy for the Western Dubuque School Board. 

Diller has two children, one starting junior high, the other in elementary school in Cascade.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Marketing Information Services and is employed in Dubuque at McGraw-Hill Education as a Senior Digital Product Analyst for the Physical Sciences.

“The Western Dubuque School Board needs someone who is on the forefront of education trends in the United States," Diller said. "My background in education and business will be an asset to the school children and parents who we ultimately serve.” 

Diller says if elected to the school board, he would like to focus on five core items: 

1.) Encourage engagement of students and teachers in S.T.E.A.M. Activities throughout the year (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math)

2.) Review and adopt technology to ensure students have adaptive programs to strengthen where they are struggling and make effective use of classroom time

3.) Ensure staff and substitute staff are properly trained and supported while maintaining budget 

4.) Maintain an effective line of communication with school board, administration, employees, and parents

5.) Ensure district wide resources are used wisely and effectively to benefit all students equally in our district”.

Voting for the Western Dubuque School Board will take place September 12, 2017.
