Falbo's robbery suspect arrested for second robbery

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A man who was arrested after returning to the scene of his crime to apply for a job has been arrested once again.

Iowa City police previously arrested 22-year-old, Cedric Johnson, as a suspect in a robbery at Falbo's Pizza after he tried to apply for a job there.

Johnson has since been arrested again after police say he was involved in a second robbery that happened on July 3rd. According to a criminal complaint, Johnson is the suspect of a robbery that occurred at the Iowa City Kum & Go at 323 E Burlington St.

On that night, surveillance video captured Johnson in the store at 1:02 a.m., standing behind a person who was making a purchase at the register. In the video, Johnson is said to be seen grabbing the victims coins that were returned in the automatic dispenser, as well as the cash that was being handed to the victim by the clerk.

Police said Johnson then hit the victim in the chest, knocking him off-balance, before taking the item the victim has just bought and exiting the store.

Details of the crime nearly duplicate what Johnson is accused to have done at Falbo's on the night of May 22, stealing cash from a customer in line.

Johnson is again being held in the Johnson County Jail, this time with a $25,000 bond and is charged with second-degree robbery.
