Back to school bash in Dubuque

Some organizations in Dubuque are coming together to make sure kids are prepared for this year's school year. 

The Back to School Bash event will give families a one-stop option for getting ready.

It's also a chance to learn about before and after school opportunities, resources for families at school and home, and a chance to sign up for area after school programs. 

Booths from various organization will be set up, and representatives will be ready to meet families to answer any questions they may have. 

Some of those organizations include: Boys and Girls Club, Boys Scout of America,  Child Care Resources and Referral, Dubuque Black Men Coalition, Dubuque Campaign for Grade Level Reading, Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA, City of Dubuque Leisure Services, Life Connection, Multicultural Family Center, MindSet Nutrition, St. Mark Youth Enrichment,  United Way, and others.

There will also be music and games.

The free event takes place Saturday, Aug. 5 at Comiskey Park from 1-4 p.m.
