Linn County Special Election will determine supervisor representation

Posted: Updated:

A special election tomorrow in Linn County will determine supervisor representation.

In the 2016 election Linn County voters chose to move from five supervisors down to three.

Currently the county is divided into five districts with a supervisor to represent each one.

In the 2019 election the five supervisors will be vying for one of three seats.

Voters will choose from three options on the ballot Tuesday for how they want the three supervisors to represent.

Here are the options:

  • Plan "one." At large and without district requirements for the members
  • Plan "two." At large but with equal-population district residence requirements for the members.
  • Plan "three." From single-member equal-population districts in which the electors of each district shall elect one member who must reside in that district.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
