Dubuque Kat-FM radio host Mike Callaghan dies

The Program Director and famed voice of Kat-FM's morning show in Dubuque has died after a battle with lung and pancreatic cancer.

According to Kat-FM's website, Mike Callaghan died this morning. He was known throughout the tri-state area for his work on the station's morning show, which he had hosted for the past seven years alongside Lisa Bennett, according to the station.  Callaghan's career in radio spanned more than 40 years.

The station says Callaghan was diagnosed with an aggressive form of small-cell lung cancer last September. He was 60 years old. Callaghan has a wife, Sharon, as well as three daughters and three grandchildren.
