Two men who sold heroin and fentanyl that killed a Dubuque man are sentenced to prison.  A third heroin dealer has also been sentenced.

The three were arrested after selling the drugs near Jackson Park and Prescott Elementary School in Dubuque.

26-year-old Derrick Brown and 39-year-old Antwain Spratt received 20 years in prison.  41-year-old Tywone Matthews was given just under 6 years in prison.

According to court documents, Brown was the leader of a heroin and fentanyl distribution ring.  He admitted to selling more than 1 kilogram of heroin over a span of three years.  He sold a mixture of the two drugs to a woman in April 2016.  The woman and her boyfriend injected some of it, and the boyfriend died of an overdose.
