Posted: Updated:

A man who stole a gun during an undercover sting is sentenced to 15 years in prison.  44-year-old Vernon Webster, of Waterloo, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Webster admitted to having a revolver and 30 rounds of ammunition in July of 2015.  Evidence showed the revolver was stolen and then sold to someone as part of the undercover operation.

Webster also sold a bulletproof vest in December 2016 which was stolen from a reserve police officer.  He had already been convicted of felony burglary three times, as well as a drug conviction.
