IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa City police have arrested a man who was driving a stolen truck and wouldn't pull over.

Police attempted to pull over Curlie Quarterman after it was discovered that the truck he was driving, a 2013 GMC Sierra, was listed as stolen. During the attempted traffic stop police said Quarterman failed to stop and instead fled. At one point, during the pursuit, Quarterman was said by police to have reached 25 miles per hour over the listed speed limit.

Quarterman wasn't stopped until Muscatine County where stop sticks had to be used to deflate the truck's tires.

In the criminal complaint, it said that Davenport police confirmed the truck was reported stolen and that the truck was valued to be between $25,000 to $35,000.

Police have charged Quarterman with first degree theft and eluding police.

Last week, a similar incident happened in Johnson County when a Cedar Rapids man refused to pull over his motorcycle for a state trooper.
