Arizona native Quick wins at Waterloo Open

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The third time turned out to be the charm for Austin Quick. The Phoenix native captured the Waterloo Open title in his third trip to the event, shooting 22 under par for the weekend.

Quick, who turned pro just under three years ago after a college career at Arizona State, bested former LSU golfer Zach Wright by two strokes. He's spent much of his time as a profession on the Latin and Canadian circuit, and says the $50,000 he made this weekend in his first significant win will go a long way.

"As much fun as it sounds traveling, it's definitely a job," said Quick,  "It's tough going  week-to-week and trying to make rent money whenever you're not even home. This paycheck is definitely going to help."
