Heavy rain causes sanitary sewer overflows in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, IOWA – The heavy rain event during the early morning hours Saturday caused sanitary sewer overflows on West Locust Street and Rosedale Avenue.

City of Dubuque Public Works staff discovered three overflowing manholes in or near the intersection of Rosedale Avenue and West Locust Street and one on Rosedale Avenue near Glen Oak at 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning. All overflows were eliminated within an hour, by 2:00 a.m. this morning.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources cautions people to keep their children and pets away from the noted area, which is posted, for forty-eight (48) hours.
