Rescues Underway due to Flash Flooding

3:10 AM UPDATE: Guttenberg [Clayton Co] at 3:06 AM - multiple roads closed across the county due to flooding. Hardest hit area is from garner to Guttenberg


2:10 AM UPDATE: Otter Creek in Oelwein is almost out of its banks and rising. If you are in this area seek higher ground away from the creek.


1:51 AM UPDATE: 1 mile East of Fredericksburg [Chickasaw Co]  water was reported over Highway 18. Sandbagging was ongoing in New Hampton.

1:40 AM UPDATE: Evacuations are on going in Durango [Dubuque Co] due to rapidly rising water from the Little Maquoketa River. 


12:20 AM UPDATED: Backbone State Park [Delaware Co] at 12:15 AM -- the park is closed with water running over bridges in park.


The are currently three rescues underway in the Garber and Guttenberg area due to flooding. 

According to Emergency Management, two rescues are along Miners Creek and one rescue is south of Cedar Creek near County Road. 

Emergency Management could not get to the campground to see if anyone was there. 

Please advise no traffic in these areas at this time. Several roads are closed due to flooding and mud slides.
