Sheriff: 3 injuries in McGregor

Posted: Updated:

At least three people have been reported injured in the McGregor area following this week's EF-1 tornado.

Two people are all right after a branch fell on their car, and a man was reported hurt after a tractor accident in rural Clayton County.

Just when people started making progress on the clean-up efforts following the confirmed EF-1 tornado, it started to rain.

It's creating quite the wet mess, but at least it's not dampening their spirits.

Utility crews are busy working through rain, and business owners like Josie Davies are getting back on their feet following the storms.

The biggest thing on Josie's mind is learning her friend Roger was involved in a tractor crash.

"He's just a great man. He's a farmer. he's a hunter, an entrepreneur, and I can't say anymore. He's just one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I just send my prayers and loves to his wife. My God," Josie said.

While grieving, Josie is trying to stop the water from rushing through her upstairs apartment and downstairs business.

"They had to patch the roof, so they're just making sure the patch holds until after our rain today," Josie said..

The metal roof pieces actually came from a building more than a block a way the night of the tornado and landed here on Josie's apartment and bar, creating quite the wet mess.

Over the last couple of days, she says she's been doing nothing but cleaning and trying to stay dry.

"Well, I'm on my second time on the windows right now. It's just a lot of work. We've been at it since last night," Josie said.

Josie said she got her power back on around 10 p.m. Thursday, and right now utility crews are making sure everything gets back to normal.

We checked in with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office throughout the day for more information regarding the tractor accident, but we have not heard back.

We stopped by the family's home on Jasper Avenue to confirm information, but a police officer directed us to the Sheriff's Office.

We are still waiting to confirm whether a fatality resulted because of the crash, who was involved, and where it happened.
