Tama County Fair dealing with heat advisory

Posted: Updated:
TAMA COUNTY (KWWL) -

Storms are  not the only concern this morning.

Something that is effecting everyone in eastern Iowa is the heat and humidity.

The Tama County Fair is this week, and workers there are taking extra precautions to keep people safe in the heat.

They say they're paying close attention to the weather and will change the time of any fair shows if it gets too hot out.

They also have free water available for anyone throughout the day. A lot of the water was donated by people in the community.

Staff from Gladbrook- Lincoln ambulance service will also be out making sure everyone stays cool and safe.

People not the only concern though, farmers are also looking out for their animals.

They say they've got fans going, and they're giving their animals extra baths to cool off.

They're also trying to work with their animals in the mornings and evenings, trying to avoid peak heat times in the morning.

The Tama County fair runs through Sunday.
