SUMNER (KWWL) -

The heavy rain and the wind during Wednesday's storm caused some damage in Sumner.

A utility pole was snapped and a tree was uprooted at the corner of 4th Street and Division Street.

The damage leaving some with out power and a section of 4th Street closed.

Crews from the Sumner Municipal Light Plant had to tie the utility pole to a nearby tree to secure it.

The pole will eventually have to be replaced.

Crews also brought in a skid loader to remove the tree from the road, clearing 4th Street.

Those who live in the area say the storm came fast and caused damage quickly.

"We noticed it started raining and we looked outside. All of a sudden the wind blew through, heard a loud bang, and the power went out. I just thought the wind had knocked down the lines, but came around the corner and saw the tree was down. I didn't see anyone try to drive over it or under it. They immediately turned around," said Brian Butterfield of Sumner.

No injuries were reported in the Sumner area.
