Heat relief protocol in Marion

With more hot temperatures in the forecast across eastern Iowa, the Marion Fire Department and Linn County Emergency Management is issuing a reminder on heat protocol with Excessive Heat Warnings in effect.

They say people needing to get out of the heat are welcome to visit one of two heat relief locations within Linn County:

Marion Public Library, 1095 6th Avenue, Marion

Hours:

Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Friday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sunday, 2 – 5 p.m.

Lindale Mall, 4444 1st Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids

Hours:

Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Sunday, Noon – 6p.m.

The Linn County Salvation Army also has fans available for those without air conditioning.
