DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

More than 120 animals will be heading to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society over the next six weeks.

The animals will come from shelters in Mississippi, Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma that all have high euthanasia rates.

Seven total trips will bring more than 90 dogs and 34 kittens to Dubuque.

Officials with the humane society say they need help from the community to cover costs of spay and neuter surgeries and care. They're also looking for donations of dog and cat toys, treats, paper towels, or bleach.
