An early childhood educator and small business owner in Cedar Rapids, announced she will run for Iowa House in District 20. Tracy Ehlert of Cedar Rapids is a Democrat and  running for the seat currently held by Rep. Todd Taylor, who has already announced he will be running for Iowa Senate.

Ehlert says, “I’m running for the Iowa House to be a strong voice for Iowa kids and families. It’s time for lawmakers in Des Moines to focus on hard-working families who are being left behind. Every Iowan deserves access to affordable healthcare, a world-class education, and a job with good benefits to support their own family.”

She teaches a variety of early childhood education courses at Kirkwood Community College. She also serves on several national, state and local early childhood boards and organizations.
