An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING and A HEAT ADVISORY are in effect through 8PM Saturday.

High heat and humidity continue for the rest of the week over the KWWL viewing area. We will also have several rounds of showers and thunderstorms that will produce heavy rainfall and may have some damaging winds and large hail. Each round of storms moves a boundary that is draped over the state. The only difference with the front is that dewpoints are only slightly lower to the north. Heat indices north of the boundary are in the 90s to around 100 with higher readings (105 or higher) to the south.. generally along and south of Highway 30.

The heat will finally start to break on Sunday with highs in the mid 80s with humid conditions in the morning, but nicer readings by Sunday night. We have a couple of comfortable days before the humidity ramps up again on Wednesday... with the chances of storms returning then, as well.
