Chilly air has settled into the area for the first weekend of the month. Highs only reach the low to upper 70s this afternoon. (Normal highs for early August are in the low 80s, for perspective) A system to our south pushes in more clouds as the day goes on. A few showers and storms are possible later today and into Sunday as this system tracks off to the east. Overnight lows get down into the 50s again but won’t be as cool as last night was.

Scattered storms are expected Sunday before drying out. Even cooler air moves in for Sunday with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Fall like temperatures stick around through the next few days. Highs on Monday reach the mid-70s and slightly warmer air returns through the end of the week. Tuesday through next Saturday land in the upper 70s and low 80s. Monday and Tuesday are both mainly dry days. Small chances of storms exist Wednesday through Saturday.
