Contractor seriously injured in assault at eastern Iowa school

FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) -
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says a contractor - hired to fix the track at Starmont School - assaulted a fellow contractor, leaving him seriously injured.
It happened on July 9th; deputies say Jake Adkins, 31, and Douglas Parades, 55, had been hired to work on the track at the school.
Deputies say they worked for Fisher Tracks, a company hired to repair the track at Starmont.
They say Adkins assaulted Parades, leaving him with very serious injuries.
Parades was taken to the Manchester Hospital, and then was med-flighted to University of Iowa Hospital.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating, and criminal charges are pending.
