Camp Courageous counselor pulls off surprise engagement

MONTICELLO (KWWL) -

For Betsy Rohovit, it was just supposed to be another Tuesday night at Camp Courageous.

But her then boyfriend Levi Logan knew it was anything but.

That's because he was planning a surprise proposal to the woman he met at that very camp two summers ago.

They both say personality is what brought them together.

"He definitely had a quirky personality that he just kinda popped out," Rohovit said.

"She was the one that approached me. She asked me out on our first date. She was very forward and I liked that," Logan said.

Now two summers after she asked him out, he organized a surprise proposal at the very camp that they met.

The entire camp was there as campers helped hold up a sign that said "Betsy, will you marry me?"

She came out to a crowd of people gawking at both her and the sign, and then it hit her when Levi took to a knee and popped the question.

"Fireworks. Everything that was pretty much what I wanted. I asked for my friends to be there, and everyone was there," she said.

"I could've done it in private or with a close group of friends. But I know that this is where we started, and this is where life long friends and family came from," Levi said.

The entire set up was a complete surprise.

"I had no idea about it. I don't know how he pulled it off," she said.

And although it appears it was quite elaborate, Levi says it was anything but.

"It was kinda like put together last minute a little bit," he said.

But now they'll have a moment they can share not only with each other for the rest of their lives, but with their camp family, and some of their favorite campers.

"It was super cool, and it was more awesome this week because Zach is one of my people, and I just love having that moment with him. And we're super close with their family, and it just made it that much better," Betsy said.

So far, the couple hasn't decided if they'll also get married at the camp.
