Dubuque offering free pickup for branches downed by storms

Posted: Updated:
DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
The City of Dubuque is offering free yard debris collection after a strong round of storms damages many area trees.
They say the collection will happen between Thursday, July 13 and Friday, July 21; branch pickup will happen in addition to each customer's normal trash pickup.
If you had branches down that you need to get rid of, there are specific instructions to follow.
  •     All yard debris must be set out by 6:00 a.m. and must not weigh over 40 pounds per container or bundle.
  •     Materials must be in paper yard waste bags, rigid containers not exceeding 35 gallons capacity, or tied in bundles that do not exceed five feet in length or 40 pounds in weight.
  •     The tied bundles of sticks, branches and limbs must not exceed 18” inches in diameter.
Those with branches that are too large to qualify for the collection, are encouraged to get a hold of a private tree service to remove them.
