Don Bosco tops Dunkerton 12-2 to open postseason play

Posted: Updated:
TRAER (KWWL) -

Don Bosco ended the game with 12 unanswered runs as the Dons rolled over Dunkerton 12-2 in 1A district play.

Some early control issues cost the Dons an early lead as Dunkerton grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first following a pair of bases loaded walks.

Don Bosco started to respond in the bottom half as Austin Miller, playing with a heavy heart following the death of his mother in a Monday night car accident, drove in the Dons opening run of the game with a base hit to center.

The Dons took control in the third inning as Trevor Brown hammered a line drive over the left fielder for a double that drove in a pair of runs. Miller followed up with his second RBI of the game as they'd score four in the frame and would never look back.

Don Bosco will face Hudson in the district final on Thursday in Traer.
