Iowa man to wheelie RAGBRAI for a good cause

Posted: Updated:

Imagine riding RAGBRAI on only the back wheel of your bike.

That's what one eastern Iowa  man is hoping to do in less than two weeks.

For North Liberty man, Brian Havlik, wheeling on his mountain bike is second nature.

Havlik plans to wheelie at least 100 miles of RAGBRAI this year.

This will be his first RAGBRAI ever, but he's turning 40 this year, and wanted to go all-out.

He's been training since October.

"I ride probably between 10 to 20 miles at night after work," Havlik says.

Havlik is riding with his friend Charlie Visek.

He's doing this all for charity. Havlik is asking people to donate money for each mile he does.

All the money will go to Camp Courageous, a camp in eastern Iowa that helps people with mental and physical disabilities.

Havlik  doesn't plan on wheely-ing the 100 miles all at once.

He plans to take breaks and split up the wheelies throughout RAGBRAI.
