Bee Branch Creek opening celebration

Posted: Updated:

The city of Dubuque is getting ready to celebrate the completion of the Bee Branch Creek.

Although it will serve as a linear park, its purpose is to control flooding. The creek is designed to move storm water safely through the area without flooding nearby properties.

A ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony will be held Wednesday, July 19. The event starts at 4 p.m. at the Bee Branch Amphitheater near Audubon Elementary School, and a community celebration will be held from 5-7 p.m. throughout the greenway.
