Police say Hiawatha man entered hospital, destroyed property

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

A Hiawatha man entered the Pomerantz Family Pavilion building Wednesday night and began destroying property, police said.

Police arrested Robert Dostal, 50, of Hiawatha. According to a criminal complaint, Dostal was aggressive in nature and hospital security officers had to hold him down until police could arrive.

Dostal is currently being held in the Johnson County Jail and is being charged with fourth degree criminal-mischief and second-degree burglary.

The Pomerantz Family Pavilion is a secured building within the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

There's an estimated $400 worth of damage that Dostal is accused of doing.
