INDEPENDENCE (KWWL) -

Remembering 9/11 at an eastern Iowa fair.

This weekend is the Buchanan county fair, and the 9/11 "Never Forget" mobile exhibit is there.

Yesterday, police, firefighters, veterans and others lead the mobile exhibit as it left a gas station in Elk Run and headed to Independence.

The driver of the exhibit says this is a way to educate and pay tribute to those that lost their lives on 9/11.

He says he's grateful to have this job, and he's seen the impact the exhibit's had on people across the United States.

He's traveled as far west as Texas, but plans to visit the West Coast in the near future.

The exhibit has pieces of the World Trade Center and of fire trucks involved in 9/11 in it. It also has relics found in the rubble and graphics talking about what happened that day.

Starting this September, the exhibit will be visiting schools. This is because this year's graduating seniors were the last students alive during 9/11.

The exhibit  driver says they want to keep educating students in the future and making sure no one forgets.

Last week, the 9/11 exhibit was at Omega Cabinetry in Waterloo.

The 9/11 "Never Forget" exhibit is not the only thing to do at the fair this weekend. Click here for more details.
