Lugo transfers to Iowa

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Two-time NCAA qualifier Pat Lugo is going to be a Hawkeye. The Edinboro 149-pounder confirmed via twitter that he will transfer to Iowa and wrestle for Tom Brands.

Lugo compiled a 62-18 record in his time at Edinboro. He fell just a win shy of All-American status in his freshman season, finishing with a 32-9 mark. His sophomore year he finished 31-9 and went 1-2 at the national tournament.

Lugo will redshirt during the 2017-18 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
