Woman reunites with three puppies after home is destroyed

When a tornado struck Prairieburg Wednesday night, Karlee Marsh was taking cover under her grandma's couch while her home was being destroyed.

She was in her mobile home when she saw the tornado overhead. She said she grabbed her sister's hand and ran to her aunt's house and then their grandparents.

"We ended up flipping the couch over and hiding underneath there," Marsh said. "Took the cushions off and put those over our heads too."

Marsh had just moved into the mobile home back in March. Her home was lifted from it's original spot and dropped down several yards away, destroying it in the process.

She had no time to grab her three puppies who were still in the home.

"I honestly thought they were dead after I came out and everyone was telling me that my house was gone and I'm like oh no then I just figured they were all gone because when I came out and looked over there was nothing left," she said.

Digging through the rubble of what was once her home, they heard two of the puppies whimper and pulled them out. The third was found about a mile away. All three are expected to be okay.

"God was looking down and knew how much I loved them and they loved me so he let them stay alive," Marsh said.
