UPDATE: Suspect in custody after Monona bank robbery

UPDATE: A 20-year-old suspect is in custody at the Clayton County Jail after he's suspected of robbing the Freedom Bank in Monona.

Tyler Koehler is facing a charge of Robbery in the Second Degree -- which is a Class C Felony.

Police say they were called to the bank around 2:07 p.m. Friday to respond to the robbery. Officers say the suspect passed notes to a bank employee demanding money and threatening to "blow up" the building if they didn't cooperate. They also say Koehler was taken into custody while still inside the bank.

Original Story: The Clayton County Sheriff's Office and the Monona Police Department have a suspect in custody after a bank robbery at Freedom Bank in Monona.

The Sheriff says the situation is currently under control. We do not know how much money was taken, or any circumstances surrounding the robbery.
