Iowa gas prices up 5 cents a gallon

Gas prices in Iowa have gone up more than five cents per gallon in the past week to roughly $2.29 a gallon.

GasBuddy reports an increase of 5.4 cents per gallon.

The national average has increased 2.7 cents per gallon in the last week to an average of $2.28 a gallon.

Prices are 41.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago, and 22.5 cents per gallon higher than one month ago. During the last month, the national average has increased 16.5 cents per gallon.

GasBuddy finds prices in the region as follows:


Quad Cities- $2.22/g, up 11.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.11/g.
Des Moines- $2.44/g, up 1.8 cents per gallon from last week's $2.42/g.
Omaha- $2.30/g, up 7.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.23/g.
