Last minute holiday shopping

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Christmas Eve -- a day to spend with family, but for some it's a day to do some last minute shopping.

"Just didn't know what to get, I guess. Spur of the moment, but looks like I'm not the only one," said Tyler Brietbach.

Many people at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque hoping to check off their Christmas gift lists. "Shopping for my mom for a Christmas present," said 9-year-old Arion Rave of Earlville.

The mall is packed with many others buying for loved ones. "I got some cologne for my step-dad and some cool socks, and some cologne for my older brother," said Kihnzeo Pulley of Peosta.

Some of them are looking for deals, but really most of them have just been procrastinating about shopping this holiday season. "Well, you know I'm a guy. I wait till the last minute and procrastinate. So now I'm out Victoria (Secret's) shopping for my wife so it's lovely," said Ken Dean.

Some of these guys, well...they're just not sure what to buy. "My mom, she doesn't tell me what she wants...I just don't know," added Kihnzeo.

Experts say holiday shopping isn't over yet. According the National Retail Federation, nearly half of all shoppers plan to go shopping the week after Christmas.
