Gas prices up slightly in Iowa

Ahead of the Christmas weekend, Iowa gas prices are up a few cents a gallon.

GasBuddy reports prices have risen 4.5 cents per gallon in the past week to $2.21 a gallon.

The national average has increased 3.1 cents a gallon in the last week to $2.24 a gallon.

GasBuddy finds prices Sunday were 25.6 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago, and 14.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 10.2 cents a gallon in the last month.

Prices in the area are reporting as follows:


Quad Cities- $2.09/g, up 4.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.04/g.
Des Moines- $2.41/g, up 7.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.33/g.
Omaha- $2.24/g, up 7.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.16/g.
