Fire breaks out at church building in Waverly

UPDATE: A fire breaks out at a church building.

Firefighters say it was police who noticed smoke in the building this morning and called the Waverly Fire Department. 

Firefighters say by the time they arrived the fire had spread so much they couldn't enter the building.

No one was injured. Firefighters say this is an old church that is now a home. 

They believe someone does live here, but no one was in the building the time the fire started.

Firefighters say they think the fire started in the basement.

They say right now they are just waiting for the fire to burn out.



Firefighters are battling an early morning fire in Waverly.  

Authorities say the fire is at a church building in town, at 2nd St. and 3rd Ave NW. No other details were released; KWWL is working to get more information.
