Driver crosses center line, several injured in crash

Three people are injured after a driver crosses the center line, hitting another vehicle Friday night in Fayette County. 

Around 6:12 p.m., Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the intersection of X Avenue and Highway 93 for  a two -vehicle personal injury accident.

Upon completion of an investigation it was discovered that 53-year-old Kevin Duane Hoehne, of Sumner was traveling Westbound in his 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix when he crossed the center line and struck Rachel and Bob Schultz of Fayette who were traveling Eastbound in their 2015 Kia Sorento.

Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage.

All parties involved in the accident were taken to Sumner Hospital with injuries. No word on their current conditions.

The investigation is ongoing with criminal charges pending.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Sumner Fire and EMS and the Iowa State Patrol.
